Credential Verification Service for New York State About the service The Credential Verification Service for New York State is for the following health care professionals educated outside the United States:
The CGFNS Credential Verification Service for New York State is a verification service in which CGFNS sends a report to the New York State Education Department. It reports only on the authenticity of your official documents. CGFNS makes no analysis or determination regarding your education’s sufficiency or whether you have met New York’s licensure requirements. Once your official documents are verified, your credentials will be evaluated by the New York State Education Department, but you have to apply to New York State separately in order for them to do so. To apply to New York State for licensure, download and complete their applications for either nurses, occupational therapists or physical therapists available at http://www.op.nysed.gov/proflist.htm. Send it to the New York State Education Department, not to CGFNS. You will not receive a copy of the report that we issue to the New York State Education Department. If you would like to know if the report has been sent to New York State, check your status at “Apply/Check Status” at https://www.cgfns.org/cerpassweb/login.jsp. If the report has been sent, your status will display “Report Issued”. The New York State Education Department will contact you with more information about your eligibility (as long as you have applied with them as well).
Fees as of January 1, 2009. Fees may change without notice. Two methods of applying for CGFNS International services
