About IIE and IIE/Southeast Asia
The Institute of International Education (IIE) is a private, non-profit, educational organization headquartered in New York. Founded in 1919, IIE, which is dedicated to promoting closer educational relations between the people of the United States and those of other countries, is one of the oldest and largest educational exchange agencies in the United States.
IIE/Southeast Asia, based in Bangkok, Thailand, was opened in 1962 as IIE’s first office in Asia. The Southeast Asia office offers numerous services including providing free student advising on study in the United States, holding fairs and conducting presentations on U.S. higher education, representing ETS and Prometric to administer standardized tests (TOEFL, GRE, GED, USMLE, etc.), and administering international and domestic scholarships for sponsoring agencies.
